Stranger Things Season 4's New Location: The Creel House Explained
The Creel House, Stranger Things season 4’s new location, is featured in a teaser trailer in the Netflix fan event, TUDUM. To be released in 2022, Stranger Things season 4 will pick up directly after the events of the Season 3 finale, wherein guards in the Eastern end of the USSR are seen feeding a prisoner to an imprisoned Demogorgon. The quip, “not the American” is a blatant reference to Jim Hopper (David Harbour), who seems to have traveled back in time through the mysterious realm of the Upside Down.
The Netflix TUDUM event included exclusive clips and reveals about various TV series and movies, with Stranger Things being the first major show to be talked about. Show creators, the Duffer Brothers, discussed the new season to an extent, calling the core location of season 4 “super important.” Whether the Creel House is located in Hawkins or not is still unclear, although the atmosphere evoked is highly reminiscent of Mike Flanagan’s The Haunting of Hill House.
The teaser trailer opens with the gang, Will, Lucas, Dustin, Max, and Steve, breaking into the creepy yet picturesque Creel House, searching for clues of some sort connected to the central mystery. Mike and Eleven are visibly absent from the scene, and the others are on the hunt for items in the mansion, although the exact nature of the quest remains unknown. In terms of motifs, a huge grandfather clock can be seen in the foreground, which cracks in an ominous manner while discordant music plays in the background. readmore...
