Sweet Tooth season 2 release updates, renewal, filming, cast, and more

 Sweet Tooth was one of the top shows on Netflix in 2021, and thankfully, we have some news about Sweet Tooth season 2 to share with fans who have been waiting for the new season.

Fans absolutely loved the first season of the Netflix original series. It’s incredible to see a Netflix show like this, a post-apocalyptic comic series with limited promotion, do so well for the streaming network.

There’s still a lot we don’t know about Sweet Tooth season 2, but we shared everything we know about the series, as of Friday, Feb. 24, 2023. We’ll share more updates about Sweet Tooth season 2 as they happen.

Sweet Tooth season 2 is happening

As of July 29, 2021, we officially know that Sweet Tooth season 2 is in the works! As reported by Collider, the unique series has been renewed by Netflix for another installment. What great news for fans of Sweet Tooth.

Based on the response to the series and how many people have been watching it since its debut, it was a no-brainer for Netflix to renew Sweet Tooth for season 2. The decision ultimately came down to a few things: if there was more to the story, if the creative team wanted to tell the story, and if enough people were watching. It looks like Sweet Tooth checks the boxes.

Sweet Tooth season 2 filming ended in 2022

According to a report from What’s on Netflix, Sweet Tooth season 2 was scheduled to begin filming in early 2022 and end in June 2022. We can’t say exactly when production ended, but it definitely wrapped in 2022. Netflix shared a video in June 2022 that revealed that production had wrapped at Netflix Geeked Week 2022.

Season 2 release prediction: April 2023

Netflix has not announced the Sweet Tooth season 2 release date yet, but the streaming network confirmed that Sweet Tooth season 2 is coming in 2023.

There was a lot of hope that Sweet Tooth season 2 would be released on Netflix in late 2022, but that didn’t happen. Netflix had a busy lineup at the end of 2022, and it was probably better off that Sweet Tooth season 2 was not released around that time of the year.

Netflix also rolled out a stacked lineup at the beginning of 2023 with Ginny and Georgia, You, and Outer Banks, followed by Shadow and Bone in March. Sweet Tooth is similar to those shows, so we’re probably looking at an April, May, or June 2023 release for season 2.

Netflix has confirmed many of the Sweet Tooth season 2 cast. We shared the list below:

Additionally, according to What’s On Netflix, the following new characters will appear in season 2: Finn Fox, Wally Walrus, Haley Mockingbird, and JoJo Cat. It also looks like Caden Dragomer, Craig Hall, Erroll Shand, and Amie Donald have reportedly joined the cast for season 2. It’s unclear if Will Forte will be back for season 2.

Netflix has not shared the synopsis for the new season yet, but we have to imagine it will pick up right where season 1 left off.

How many seasons of Sweet Tooth are there?

Currently, there is only one season of Sweet Tooth on Netflix. We’re hopeful that this will be a four or five-season Netflix original show, but we’ll have to wait and see how it goes.
