Fans are going to have to wait a little longer for Stranger Things season 4 to arrive on Netflix.
To say that Stranger Things was one of the most successful shows of the last decade would be a major understatement. Arguably Netflix’s biggest show ever, it put the streaming service on the map for many and quickly became the definitive streaming series.
It has enjoyed a great deal of success thus far, with all three of its seasons becoming huge events for Netflix as viewers tuned in their droves to see the mysteries of the Upside Down make their presence felt in Hawkins.
It’s now been over two years since the third season premiered on Netflix in the summer of 2019 and fans are eager for more. We know that a fourth season is on the way, with production taking place earlier this year (after the understandable delays in 2020) but when will it premiere?
Unfortunately, Stranger Things 4 will not be premiering on Netflix in November 2021. The streaming service recently released its list of planned content for next month and the show is not listed there.
Stranger Things season 4 release date
Stranger Things season 4 will premiere sometime in 2022. It was initially expected to arrive in fall 2021, but it became clear that those plans had changed when Netflix revealed a list of its returning and new shows for the remainder of the year and it wasn’t featured.
The first sneak peek trailer for the fourth season was revealed at Netflix’s TUDUM event and it confirmed that the show will indeed return in 2022.
While the month remains unclear, production had wrapped by September, so taking into account the time post-production will take, a spring 2022 release date seems likely.
