Dark Sweet Tooth Season 3 Story Set Up In Final Moments Of Season 2

WARNING: The following contains SPOILERS for the Sweet Tooth season 2 finale.

The ending of Sweet Tooth season 2 left off on a hopeful note for Gus and co. as they travel to Alaska, but the episode's final scene hinted at a horrific storyline from the comics that could make its way into season 3. Sweet Tooth season 2 finally landed on Netflix after audiences had to wait almost two years since season 1 dropped back in 2021. It didn't help that season 1 left off on a cliffhanger, with Gus and the other hybrids captured by General Abbott. Dr. Singh and Rani were taken hostage as well, with Singh being forced to work on a cure for The Sick.

Season 2 saw a rescue mission from Aimee, Jeppard, and the Air Lords, with Bear joining the fray while posing as one of the Last Men. The Sweet Tooth season 2 ending saw a few surprising deaths. Saddest of all was Aimee, as she succumbed to The Sick. However, the biggest shocker was Doug Abbott's death, which also revealed that Gus may have powers. Now that the big bad is dead, someone else will have to step into that role, and the season 2 ending hints that Mrs. Zhang is the one that will come calling in season 3, and she could bring a particular horrific comic storyline with her.

Sweet Tooth Season 2's Last Scene Hints At The Comic Dog Hybrids' Story

The final scene in Sweet Tooth season 2 hints in a big way that season 3 will see the dog hybrids storyline from the comics, one that is arguably the darkest of the series. In the last moments of Sweet Tooth season 2, one of Mrs. Zhang's employees alerts her, while she is chopping raw meat, that Abbott is dead, and she questions the authenticity of his so-called cure. The employee reveals that Dr. Singh's tape recorder made it out of the fire, and she demands they begin salvaging its contents immediately. The employee leaves, and Zhang (one of The Three) goes off to a side room with snarling animals.
