 Stranger Things Season 5 is happening! Netflix announced in February 2022 the show was also greenlit for a fifth season.

While details so far are scant on what to expect for Season 5, we do have some solid intel on the series, including whether or not this will be the last we see of Eleven, Hopper and the rest of the beloved Hawkins gang.

Will there be Stranger Things Season 5?

Indeed! In February 2022, Netflix said in a statement that Stranger Things would return for Season 5.

Showrunners and creators Matt and Ross Duffer (known as "The Duffer Brothers") wrote in a Netflix blog (via The Hollywood Reporter), "Seven years ago, we planned out the complete story arc for Stranger Things. At the time, we predicted the story would last four to five seasons. It proved too large to tell in four, but — as you’ll soon see for yourselves — we are now hurtling toward our finale. Season 4 will be the penultimate season; Season 5 will be the last."

Is S4 the last season of Stranger Things?

Season 4 is not the last season of Stranger Things, but it is the beginning of the end. Season 5 will be the final season of the series, and Season 4 has been marketed with the tagline, "Every ending has a beginning." The penultimate season set up Season 5.

Ross Duffer previously told The Hollywood Reporter, "Season 4 won't be the end. We know what the end is, and we know when it is. [The COVID-19 pandemic] has given us time to look ahead, figure out what is best for the show. Starting to fill that out gave us a better idea of how long we need to tell that story."
