Ever since the Duffer Brothers transported us to the world of Hawkins, Indiana, the series has become a pop culture phenomenon with beloved characters. After a brief hiatus (if you want to call it almost 3 years "brief"), fans are wondering what's next for Eleven and her friends. Luckily, we won't have to wait much longer because Netflix just announced season 4's premiere date!

When will Stranger Things Season 4 debut on Netflix?

So, there's good news and bad news. We'll give you the good news first — you won't have to wait too long to continue enjoying the out-of-this-world adventures with Eleven and her alien-busting crew. Season 4 will be split into two volumes due to it being near twice the length of previous seasons. Season 4 of Stranger Things (Volume 1) will premiere on May 27th. Stranger Things (Volume 2) will premiere 5 weeks later on July 1st.


 

Unfortunately, these two volumes will be the penultimate season for the Stranger Things series and the show will ultimately end with Season 5. In an open letter to fans, the Duffer Brothers admitted that this was the most challenging yet rewarding season and had this to say about creating the hit Netflix series:

It's been a while since we immersed ourselves in the world of Hawkins, Indiana. Season 3 of Stranger Things was full of ups and downsBetween the death of Hopper who sacrificed himself to save Hawkins from the Upside Down and Billy who sacrificed himself to save Eleven, the last season left us with a few holes in our hearts.

After defeating the Mind Flayer, in the final scenes, we see Joyce and her family (which now includes Eleven) moving to start a new life away from Hawkins. Eleven is still trying to reignite her lost powers and the portal to the Upside Down is seemingly closed for good. Or has it?!
